The summer edition of the 17th European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) has officially begun in Maribor city, Slovenia.
Team Azerbaijan’s flag bearers Madina Babayeva and Ramazan Ahmadov also joined the parade of athletes by carrying their national flag.
Azerbaijani athletes will test their strength in athletics, tennis, swimming, cycling (MTB), judo and gymnastics.
As the largest multi-disciplinary sports event for young athletes aged 14 to 18, EYOF brings together nearly 3600 athletes from 48 countries in Slovenia taking part in 11 different sports competitions with the closing ceremony scheduled for July 29.
