The “Baku Heart Days” 8th International Congress dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev has today started in Baku.
Organized by the Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, the congress brought together local and foreign specialists.
First, the participants observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The opening ceremony also featured a documentary on life and activity of Heydar Aliyev.
Head of the Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues Department of the Presidential Administration Farah Aliyeva read out the letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed to the congress participants.
Addressing the congress, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Health Committee Ahliman Amiraslanov highlighted the importance of the congress in terms of development of Azerbaijani medicine and science.
Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance Zaur Aliyev highlighted the rapid development of medical science, emphasizing importance of studying international experience by foreign professionals as well as holding discussions on innovations in the relevant field.
In his speech, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Healthcare Rasim Ismayilov touched upon the great, meaningful and glorious life path traveled by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, describing Heydar Aliyev’s role in development of Azerbaijan’s statehood, military, culture, healthcare and education systems as irreplaceable.
Executive Director of Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) Vugar Gurbanov noted that the congress provides a great opportunity for Azerbaijani medical workers to discuss the latest achievements in the field of cardiology with leading specialists.
Honorary guest of “Baku Heart Days” congress, famous cardiologist, professor Murat Tuzcu, who was a doctor of Heydar Aliyev in Cleveland Clinic shared his memories about the National Leader.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery , professor Kamran Musayev said that the congress’ main goal is to contribute to the development of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery in Azerbaijan and exchange views with leading foreign specialists. He also mentioned that the congress brings together almost 400 local and foreign cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, who will discuss topical issues of the treatment process.
The congress participants will also make presentations and hold discussions on relevant topics.
