Erdogan secured 49.35% of the vote, compared to 45% gained by Kilicdaroglu. The third candidate, the leader of the ATA Alliance, Sinan Ogan, stood at 5.22% of vote.
The voters turnout hit record-breaking 88.84%.
The polls opened at 8:00 AM (0500 GMT) and closed at 5:00 PM (1400 GMT).
If no candidate secures more than half the votes in the first round of voting, a May 28 run-off will be held.
The latest results of parliamentary vote showed that the People’s Alliance got 321 parliamentary seats out of 600 while Nation Alliance secured 266 ones.
